Happy Birthday Patty!

My sister Patty turns (50) today! Yes, I said it. My sister is the hardest working and most dedicated mother, wife, sister, aunt & employee out there. Patty was a stay at home Mom for many years and about 10 years ago, she entered the difficult and competitive work force. To say that she has been successful doesn't give her enough credit. This is a woman who now is up at 4:00 a.m. everyday and out the door for a 1 hour plus drive to work. She usually doesn't arrived back home until 7:00 p.m. or even later. She travels to various parts of the United States for various business encounters. Even with her very busy and demanding job, she continues to make her family a priority. She's expecting her first grand baby next year and believe me, that baby will be so loved and spoiled. I talk to Patty everyday, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day depending on what's going on. I can call her in tears when I'm having a really bad day and she ALWAYS puts me back in touch with what's really important. She is so encouraging and has already been through so many of the same things I'm now encountering with my boys. I can call her with a problem or two with one of the boys and she always has great advice. I never hang up with Patty not feeling renewed and able to go on with my day. I can call her and say "I need a weekend" and she will come (after a very long day at work) and pile the boys in her van and take them home with her so that I can recharge my batteries. She was the only one that I trusted with Joe during his most difficult years. I'm sure it was never easy having a little boy who couldn't communicate, wanted his mommy , and didn't sleep very well. I can call her and say "I need hundreds of cookies decorated for whatever holiday and I want them wrapped in a creative way. No Problem, it's done. Billy recently had to do a report on hero's and it got me thinking of who my hero is. Well, hands down it's my sister Patty. She's beautiful and giving and my best friend. I'm so blessed to have a sister as wonderful as you Patty, I love you. Have a wonderful birthday. Remember, no pouting!

There's nothing like a bond between two sisters. It's such a blessing when they are also your best friend.
