Last night Bob and I went to a winter holiday party at Sherry & Daley's (Kelley's parents) house. We met some great people and had a wonderful time. We got in around 12:45 this morning and the kids were all still up and going strong. We finally got to bed around 2:30. Bob had setup at church this morning so Brad picked him up at 7:30 this morning. The kids got to sleep until 8:30.
Mike left in his car around 9:30 to pick Jenn up and headed to Church and the rest of us were going to all go together. Everyone was showered and almost ready to walk out the door when Joe decided he had to have a meltdown about something that Billy had done. So, I sent Bobby, Sarah, Chris and Billy off to church and stayed home with Joe until he was done with his meltdown. By this time, it was 5 minutes before church was about to start and it's a good 25 minutes away on a good day and today wasn't the best weather day here in Michigan. As I headed out the door, I remembered that Church was being held at a different location and I hadn't told Bobby. I called Bobby told him he needed to turn around and go in a different direction and that I would meet him there. Well, we all arrived about 30 minutes late for church and when we "show up" late, everyone knows it. More than once today, I considered just saying forget it and staying home but, I'm so glad tonight that I pulled it all together and made it. Pastor Joe had a great message and it felt so good to be there that the morning events were totally worth it. I don't know why I'm surprised when a message speaks so clearly to me but still, I'm overwhelmed when it hits so close to what's happening in my life.
After Church, we all went to Chili's for lunch. On the way home, Joe wanted to ride with Jenn & Mike so he went with them but the saga of the morning just continued. Joe throw up in the back of Mike's truck and they had to pull over, go back into the restaurant, get some napkins and clean Joe up. Mike and Jenn were so good to Joe and never once complained about having to clean up him and the car. Thanks guys. You're the best.
Now, hang in there with me for just a little bit longer. We had tickets for the Glory of Christmas at Northridge Church at 3:00. We left at 2:00 knowing how crazy it would be just finding parking and getting to our seats. We made it to our seats by 2:30 and because of technical difficulties, the show didn't start until 3:30. I was a little concerned that Joe might get sick again but, he was just fine. He did a great job and sat there for nearly 3 hours. It was fabulous and well worth the wait. We got home around 6:00 threw something together for dinner and now I'm looking forward to a quiet night of watching Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters.
