Homecoming 2007

Tonight is Chris and Billy's Homecoming Dance. Chris and Kelley didn't do the traditional go out to a restaurant for homecoming. Instead, a few of the girl's moms got together and cooked dinner for all the couples at one of their homes. Saves the boys some money and they get a home cooked meal. Billy met his entourage and about 40 other kids at Meadowbrook Country Club for dinner and then Bob picked a few of them up in his convertible and dropped them off at school for the dance.

I've had boys going to homecoming for the past seven years and I'm sure this was the warmest one yet. 88 degrees at 6:00 when we were taking pictures. Usually, the girls are all freezing but not today, they were all worried about being too sweaty. It was a beautiful day.

Having the High School literally right in our backyard, is great for the boys. Billy and friends are going to walk back to our house when the dance is over at 10:30. Chris of course drove and he's going to an "after homecoming" party. The girls are having a sleepover and all the boys have to leave by 2:00 A.M. Fortunately, the party is just across the street so Chris doesn't have far to go.

Our house is pretty quiet tonight. Mike went to the U of M game today and is staying at his friend Pete's dorm tonight, Sarah is here this weekend and Bobby and her are at the movies. So, it's just us home with Joe tonight. It's 80 degrees out and the pool is about 90 degrees so I think we are going to talk Joe into going for a swim. He's not to thrilled hanging out with just Mom and Dad tonight. Oh well, he better get use to it.
