Today was Joe's last day of Spring Hill day camp. I can't begin to express what a wonderful week it was for him and of course for all of us here at home that had a little bit of peace and quiet. I had heard great things about Spring Hill camps but I never expected it to be as GREAT as it was. I've never seen Joe so happy and content all week long. Usually, Joe comes home from a long day feeling like he couldn't keep up or he's frustrated due to his communication issues but this was different. Not once all week did he say his usual "it's hard Mom". His camp counselor's Jeff and Amanda were simply amazing. To watch him interact today with all the kids in his group was so great. The bonds and friendships that the staff encouraged with all the kids sure did show. Joe is already talking about going next year to the week long overnight camp. I'm so impressed with Spring Hill. I have no reservations about sending him next year.
