Bob's mom is still in the hospital tonight. They are draining the large amount of fluid that has built up in her abdomen. She is in acute kidney failure and upon the doctors recommendations, she will be coming home tomorrow and Hospice will be coming to the house tomorrow. A few months back, we were going to start Hospice but the family wasn't quite ready but now, everyone agrees that it is time. Bob and I spent the day with his mom and dad at the hospital and met with the Hospice doctor. He was a wonderful man and very helpful. Bob's mom should be feeling much better after they remove the large amount of fluid build up and hopefully she will be feeling better when she comes home. Bob's mom has been fighting uterine cancer for five years now and she has shown unbelievable strength and determination. The doctors in the beginning only gave her 6 months to a year to live. Truly, she never believed them. She would tell them they must be wrong, that she felt fine. During those years, we've been able to take quite a few trips to Mexico with all of the family and spend some wonderful vacations with his mom and dad and brothers and sisters and families. It's with very heavy hearts that we find ourselves wondering if we should still go on our vacation to Mexico on Wednesday. After speaking to the doctors today, they recommend that we still go and they feel strongly that she should be ok this week while we are gone. Having said that, they really don't know how much time she has left and it's a difficult decision. Of course, she wants us to still go, she even joked about puting her in one of our suitcases and bringing her along. Oh how I wish we could. We've have had some awesome family vacations together.
Bob's mom is very tired tonight but is really in no pain. Thank God. Please continue to pray for her and Bob and our family. Please pray that we make the right decisions for the right reasons. Thank you.
