Happy Birthday Roberta

Today is my sister in law Roberta's birthday. She is my brother Dan's wife. There is quite a story behind Dan and Roberta's meeting 9 years ago. I'm sure they won't mind me sharing it here. Roberta was living in Florida and my brother Dan was here in Birch Run. They met through the internet. To say that we were all just a little concerned when Dan called us to tell us that he had just gotten married to a woman he met on the internet is an understatement. I will always remember the first time I met Roberta, it was at our house for a family party. Here was this tiny petite woman walking into a house full of Dan's brother's and sister's who were just a little concerned about what he had gotten himself into. Well, we all worried for nothing and knew that immediately. Roberta was so lovely and kind and friendly from the get go. She was our family from that day forward. Little did we know that it would only get better. Roberta has a son Kenny and a daughter Michelle from a previous marriage and is the most wonderful mom to my nephews Steve and Jeff. Her and Dan have seven grandchildren together. I truly believe that 9 years ago, Roberta was not only a special blessing sent to my brother Dan but also to all of the Schniers Family.

Now, during this time of year, you will find Roberta very busy. She works for a tax service doing taxes. But, this does not stop her from making her family, our family, priority. On Sunday, she presented Joe and Stacy with a beautiful handmade quilt for Baby Joseph who is due in March. Roberta makes quilts for all the weddings and babies in our family and let me tell you we have a lot of them. Roberta is the kind of woman who truly defines what family is all about.

Roberta, I know that I can speak for ALL of us, we love you and are so thankful for you. You are a special blessing.
