Grama

Since the funeral on Saturday, the boys have been sharing some of their favorite "Grama Moments". There are so many of them I've decided just to share a few of them on a daily basis. There's also of course some very sweet comments Joe's made in the past few days that I will also share.

Whenever Grama would see the boys, she would sing to each of them with her arms tightly wrapped around them, "How's my darlin skip to the lou" "I love you yes I do"

Since Bobby was just a little boy, Grama would tell everyone that she was sure that all the teachers were "grooming him to be President" now, that would be kinda cool but I think Bobby is way to nice to be President!

Grama use to come over after working at Three Star and stopping at the grocery store. She would pull up in the drive way and tell the boys to go outside and check and see what was in her trunk and backseat. They would come in with their arms full of their favorite foods. Everyone had a favorite cereal and she would have at least two boxes of each for each of them. If there was ever anything we needed, she would most likely have it in her car.

For Christmas a few years ago, Grama was too sick to shop for Christmas Presents so she gave all the boys money in a card and then wrapped up food from her house. She had a watermelon, cereal, pickles, pretzels, their favorite canned soups. If you were to ask the boys about that Christmas, that was definitely their favorite Grama Christmas. She had such a wonderful sense of humor.

Of course, going to Mexico on many occasions and Grama speaking Spanish to all the Mexican people and getting the boys royal treatment.

At Grama's funeral, Joe spent a lot of time just kneeling and looking at Grama. At one point, I was with him and he said "Mom is Grama in Heaven?" I said yes Joe and he looks around and then at me so seriously and said "Mom is this Heaven?"

Yesterday, Denise was over and Joe asked her where Grama was. Denise told him she was in heaven and he proceeded to ask so many questions. We were eating and he wanted to know what she was eating in Heaven and who she was having dinner with. Denise did an awesome job helping Joe make sense of the Heaven questions.

Her love for her children and grandchildren is indescribable. As each day passes, she is missed more and more and the void more prevalent than ever.

This picture was taken a month ago during our Sunday dinner.
