Judi Update

Here's the latest update on my sister-in-law Judi. If everyone who reads my blog could just stop and say a prayer for Judi and her family, we would truly appreciate it. Our prayers are being heard and God is guiding the doctors in the right direction. Inspite of extremely intense treatments, Judi is tolerating them well. God is good and is taking great care of our Judi and Family. Thank you to everyone for their prayers. Truly, the prayers are what sustain them. You can visit judi's site at www.caringbridge.com. Today went pretty fast---- We had radiation at 7:00 AM; we were running about 15
minutes early so they took us in early----- Chemo was scheduled for 9:00AM, but due to the radiation getting done early we were able to get the chemo started by 8:00. The etopiside goes pretty fast, about 45 minutes----so we were out of there by 9:00AM. Fixed some breakfast when we got home and Judi laid down about 11:00. It's just after 2:00 and she is just now starting to stir. ----A good three hour nap----she needs that.

Some more info on yesterday--- The Thoracic oncologist & his assistant both were very encouraging in regards to how Judi looks & how the blood work looks. All of her vital signs & blood are in the normal range. The N/P felt around her shoulders and chest and was not able to "feel" the enlarged lynph nodes. -----GOOD SIGN---The radiation oncologist also examined her shoulders & chest area & independantly indicated that he could not feel the mass that was present to begin with. He also gave us some information about the simulation (C.T. Scan) that Judi will be having tomorrow. He told us NOT to be concerned if the mass does not show a reduction in size-----that the radiation & chemo continues to "work" for some time after treatments are stopped. That was important info because I was expecting to see a shriveled up glob where the mass used to be. That also validates why they don't "check" every week like I wanted them to do.------WHEW----WHAT A TRIP----------- Judi is up---feeling a little bit iffy, & smelling like a shop rag---- (From the chemo)--but her attitude and her faith are holding her strong. ----This is a tough battle---But with God's help, we will beat it. PLEASE THANK JESUS, MARY & JOSEPH FOR WATCHING OVER US. IF YOU HAVE A SPECIAL PRAYER THAT GIVES YOU COMFORT, PLEASE SHARE IT WITH US IN THE GUEST BOOK. ------JESUS IS GIVING US HIS FULL ATTENTION---

THANK YOU-----
