Still feels like home
We went to our old church in Detroit today for a Memorial Mass for our Dad. He passed away 40 years ago on December 6th. From the moment we drove up to the church, I felt such a comfort. I can't quite explain it, but it was just a feeling of being at home. Now, this is the church that most all of us celebrated our baptisms, first communions, confirmations, and marriages. I went to grade school at St. Scholastica and we would go to church every morning before class. I showed the boys the confessional that I visited a few times. I haven't been there since Bob and I were married 20 years ago. It looks exactly the same. It's a very large beautiful church. There were 36 of our family members there today and we sat in the pews that my Mom and I would sit in over 20 years ago. My sister Margie and I have decided to make frequent visits back. After church, we came back home for lunch and time with my family. As busy as we all are, one thing never changes; the love and connection that we all share. I know that both my mom and dad were watching from Heaven today feeling very proud of their family.

Whoah! Rudy in church? Did the ground shake.
Rudy was an alter boy/apprentice pastor for many years at St.Scholastica ! You should have seen him ringing the bells on the alter every Sunday. No ground shaking going on there.
ok dave you might have bitten off more then you can chew... old sayin he who laughs last laughs best....he who lives in a glass house shouldnt throw stones think about it no i wasnt a alter boy liz
Sorry Rudy it must of been Dan ringing the bells on the alter!
